Johnny Depp To Star In The Ginger Man
Johnny Depp is reportedly to play the hero in the first ever film version of JP Donleavy’s iconic novel The Ginger Man.
Rated one of the 100 best books of the 20th century and never out of print since its publication in 1955, it recounts the ribald adventures of Sebastian Balfe Dangerfield, an Irish American law student at Trinity College. Due to its content Donleavy had great difficulty finding a publisher.
When it was finally published by Olympia Press in Paris, it caused outrage and delight in equal amounts and was critically hailed as a masterpiece.
A stage version starring Richard Harris and Wendy Craig ran to some acclaim in London’s Fortune Theatre, but when the play (with Harris, Godfrey Quigley and Genevieve Lyons) opened in the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin on October 26, 1959, it was stopped after three performances, apparently following complaints from the Roman Catholic hierarchy.

but yea newayz i wonder if he ever reads theze commends frum his fans on different sights and stuff….or sumtimes i just think, “na he don’t read dis stuff on da computer, he’s a big movie star actor and he’s gotta deal wit all da poperazzi(i spelt it wrong) and all da movie premeirs and interviews and all dat other stuff actors gotta do, then on top of all dat he’s gotta be a dad and a loving husband to his wife and kids…..so really wen wud johnny depp hav enough time ta b on da computer, and wen he is on da computer(if he has one) y wud he b readin’ stuff lik dis…..sorry i started babelin’ on well enough of dat….so yea i REALLY wanna c his next movie…cuz he’s an AMAZING, sexy, perfect actor. but i heard on an interview sumwere he said he was gunna stop acting wen he turns 50 cuz he wants ta b remembered 4 his looks, cuz i guess he thinks he’ll b ugly or old wen he’s 50 but no he won’t cuz he’s already 44 and he’s soooo hot and doesn’t even look close to his age(he looks lik half of that)like wat’s 6 yrs gunna do 2 sum one who hot and has always bin hot and most likly STAY HOT…..so yea sorry 4 wasting ur time and babeling on and on about stuff…..
