If any of you who watched American Idol season five and wondered why this season we saw Elliott Yamin, Kellie Pickler, and Chris Daughtry perform, yet no runner up Katharine McPhee, you and Katharine would be in the same boat. She herself has no idea why she was never invited back.

US Weekly says:

Scores of American Idol alums turned out to partake in this year’s season finale, but noticeably absent from the festivities was last year’s runner-up, Katharine McPhee.

Although fellow Season 5 competitors Elliot Yamin, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry all returned for guest spots this season, McPhee, 23, was missing from the rundown – and it was not by choice.

“Katharine called them herself, trying to get on the [finale],” a source close to the singer tells Us. “She’s really hurt.”

But she wasn’t the only former Idol who got dissed. When Sony/BMG president Clive Davis addressed the TV audience, he made sure to plug Taylor Hicks’ new single, but failed to mention Kelly Clarkson’s latest single or her forthcoming CD, My December, over which the two have reportedly butted heads.

McPhee’s rep could not be reached, and Fox had no comment.

I really don’t understand why she was never invited back. Don’t they make money when Katharine and RCA make money? Wouldn’t they have a vested interest in one of their most promising talents selling more records, or having a hit single? It doesn’t make sense to me. Anyone care to explain?

“They [Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson] loved him. I couldn’t stand him [Taylor Hicks]. I didn’t get it. At the end of the day you have to find a bona fide recording artist. Just because you win the show doesn’t mean you will sell a lot of records. Chris [Daughtry] is the one who sold the albums, not Taylor.”

Taylor = Worst American Idol Ever.

Christina Aguilera only won ONE Grammy on Sunday, her win wasn’t even television, and she didn’t even perform a song off her own record, yet she still managed to stay on everybody’s minds long after the ceremony was over.

Papa Knowles must be slippin’. I don’t see Miss Beyonce anywhere. Oops. She’s sitting at home twirling her weave, fawning over her boring ass Sports Illustrated cover while Jennifer Hudson is picking out what dress she’s going to wear when she goes up to accept her Academy Award.

Wow. Just wow. I love this man.

I didn’t like this song all that much when I first heard it. In fact, even after a few listens I still didn’t like it–especially after I’d heard the highly superior “Home” which I’m hoping is their next single. But now that I’ve viewed the video somehow I like it now, and I can’t stop singing the chorus.

And of course, the video has cemented the idea in my head that Chris needs to marry me (this is of course after I divorce Johnny Depp and David Beckham). There’s something about that bald head and those tight jeans–can’t forget the butt chain!

Anyway, enjoy the video. Their album has already gone platinum and sold an additional 55,000 copies last week. The sales should be higher for next week given the fact that their single is getting crazy airplay on both A/C and Pop radio, and because the post-Christmas crash is over (last week was a pathetic week for CD sales).

Taylor Hicks may have won American Idol, but he lost the Billboard battle between he and Young Jeezy. Not only did Taylor not debut at number one, he didn’t even beat the first week sales of 4th place finisher Chris Daughtry. Anyone smell a flop?

Michael C. Hall and his new hit Dexter have broken records for Showtime. Wow, looks like Showtime is kicking HBO’s ass lately.

Shia LaBeouf has a really cute butt. Oh yeah, he’s a damn good actor too. You know you’re good when you outshine Anthony Hopkins, Martin Sheen, and Harry Belafonte.

Ocean’s 13? For some reason Hollywood felt like we needed another dose of ensemble A-Listers pulling off a heist and looking pretty while doing so. Well…unless you count Al Pacino then it’s just pulling off a heist. Sheesh, buy some moisturizer.

Some dumbass tried suing Michael Moore for the footage he used in Fahrenheit 9/11. HA. He just lost. Case dismissed muthafucka!

When will David Beckham stop being so hot? A better question, when will Victoria Beckham stop being so fug? An even better question, when will David realize he’s gay and come make love to me?

Law & Order: SVU just announced their guest star line-up for next year, which includes Blair Underwood, Kal Penn, Brian Dennehy, and a directorial debut for ER’s Eriq LaSalle.

I’ve never gotten into The O.C. but some of my friends are obsessed with it. Could it be because some of the cast members run around in speedos? There’s probably more to it than that. I’ll just never get it.

Christina Aguilera partied like it was 1999 in Prague this past week as she celebrated her birthday. Win those Grammys girl! I’ll hold Justin’s arms behind his back, Beyonce will punch Mary J. Blige, go grab the trophy.

Lovely and bald Chris Daughtry recently appeared on Ellen to promote his already gold debut album, and Ellen–a lesbian she may be–got what we all wanted out of Chris: his shirt off.

I’m crazily following the Hits Daily Double building album sales chart, and it looks like Chris Daughtry’s debut album may take number one. Mind you, he’s beating out Jay Z, RBD, The Beatles, U2, Now That’s What I Call Music, Il Divo, and Snoop Dogg.

The sales chart is only 22% in right now, but currently his sales are tallied at about 83,000. HDD predicts that he might sell upwards of 300,000 copies, which is about where Kelly Clarkson’s debut album was in its debut week.

And of course, he’s doing all this without a hit single. So imagine what his album can do if his debut single can make it into the top 10.

UPDATE: Sorry guys, Chris didn’t end up being number one. Jay Z had a huge surge at the end and ended up edging Chris out for the top spot. Nonetheless..he still sold 301,000 copies!!! Congrats my bald headed lover!

Wow…one of our American Idol faves from last season Chris Daughtry looks effing smoking on his band’s album cover (he decided to put together a band named Daughtry instead of being the solo singer Chris Daughtry, by the way).

The album is due out November 21, just in time for Christmas, and of course we can’t wait to see Chris and that sexy bald head performing live.
