Wow, it’s been quite a while since Celine’s put out a good album–the last one I remember is A New Day Has Come. After taking some time off of recording to do her Vegas show, she’s finally putting out another CD, and this is her first single called Taking Chances from her album of the same name.
As Celine Dion prepares to do her final show later this year in Vegas, the city is lining up its next act in hopes of driving tourists to Sin City. Bette Midler and Cher!
“Get ready Vegas ’cause here I come!” Midler said in a statement. “Caesars Palace will never be the same and to all those critics who have accused me of being ‘tacky,’ ‘too much’ and ‘over the top,’ I say, you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!”
Midler has signed on to perform approximately 100 concerts a year at the 4,100-seat Colosseum as part of a minimum two-year deal. Her show, which is scheduled to premiere Feb. 20, 2008, will be presented five nights a week. Tickets are already on sale for the first couple of weeks, with prices ranging from $95 to $250.

Yes, ladies and gents. It’s true! Celine will be ending her run at Caesar’s Palace fairly soon, and Ms. Dion will be teaming up with Quincy Jones to produce her first studio album in four years.
The release is set for late next year.

Barry Manilow and Celine Dion and British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen are among the big names in talks to appear in the latest sequel to Ocean’s Eleven. Ocean’s Thirteen will begin shooting in July in Burbank, California, where a fully operational casino will be built.
Warner Bros. studios are looking to Manilow and Dion to add some musical star power to the film, according to moviehole.net. Cohen, renowned for his kooky alter-ego Ali G, will play a character specifically written for him by the film’s star George Clooney.
Clooney explains, “I think he’s a great actor and I’ve written a role exclusively for him. I know he’s a fan of my work and we’re hooking up together soon. He will be an oddball character.”
