Fresh Trailer: Zach Braff In The Ex

Posted under Movies, Trailers, Zach Braff by Chris Evans on Tuesday 20 March 2007 at 12:53 am

I’ve been very “eh” about Zach Braff ever since that emo mess of a flop The Last Kiss, but Jason Bateman and Amanda Peet were enough to get me to watch the trailer and I’m glad I did. This movie looks absolutely hilarious.

I just hope it doesn’t turn out to be one of those movies where the trailer is funny as hell but you go to see the movie and find out the reason the trailer was so funny was because they used all the funny parts in it, and the rest of the movie is shit.

Anyway, it comes out on May 11. Here’s the trailer:

Fresh Links: Scarlett Johansson In Parade Magazine

Scarlett Johansson is looking lovely in this month’s Parade magazine. I’m still trying to manage to forgive her for starring in that horribly embarassing Justin Timberlake video, and these pictures get me a little closer to having mercy on her soul.

Apparently rehab isn’t the only punishment Isaiah Washington has to endure for his derogatory slurs, sources are saying Washington–who is usually one of the top paid actors on Grey’s Anatomy, has now had to suffer a pay cut. Maybe they can give the difference to Katherine Heigl?

Rachel McAdams, Michael Pena, and Academy Award winner Tim Robbins are slated to star in war drama The Return, which follows three soldiers returning from Iraq who take a road trip across the States. Three of my favorite actors. Upgrade. Movie about war? Downgrade.

My favorite celebrity couple (well, other than Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling) Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner look adorable as usual playing with their daughter Violet. I feel bad Jen’s movie flopped, but hopefully there’s more good things to come from her in the future.

A lot of Anne Hathaway’s co-stars seem to be pretty obsessed with her tits. First we heard about Stanley Tucci on the set of The Devil Wears Prada, now Anne’s telling us Jake Gyllenhaal was urged to touch them during Brokeback Mountain.

As NBC comedy Scrubs approaches its seventh season, the network has reportedly decided to up Zach Braff’s pay to $350,000 per episode. This puts him at the top of the list of best paid male actors in television, right up there with Charlie Sheen who gets paid about the same salary per episode.

One of the most promising young actors around today, Shia LaBeouf, who you might recognize from Bobby, I, Robot, Holes, or even his old Disney show Even Stevens, has been awarded the ShoWest Male Star of Tomorrow award. This award in earlier years has gone to people like Brandon Routh, Hayden Christensen, and Ryan Gosling.

Big Gay Following: Zach Braff

Posted under Celebrities, Gay, Zach Braff by Chris Evans on Wednesday 17 January 2007 at 5:00 am

John Griffiths sat down with Scrubs star Zach Braff and asked him about his “gay” relationship onscreen with co-star Donald Faison.

Zach, you are a thinking man’s sex symbol. Say something smart.
[Laughs] I’m glad you clarified with “a thinking man.” I can’t think of anything. It’s too early.

J.D.’s sexuality is often called into question on Scrubs. What’s the girliest thing about you?
I love Broadway musicals. My favorite has always been Les Misérables. But then I saw Idina Menzel sing in Wicked, and I almost cried, it was so beautiful. I get in the car sometimes and crank up a good musical.

You once played a guy who pretended to be a girl in an after-school special. Are you a fan of drag?
Not really. I’m not a very attractive woman.

You and Donald’s character seem to be practically inseparable. Will they ever hook up?
I don’t think so. The funny thing about the Turk and J.D. thing is that there are so many guys who have these relationships with their best friends. [They] walk the line between hetero and homo and just dip their toes across it—you know what I mean? It’s not sexual, but they love each other as much as two guys can.

I’ve realized the same thing about gay guys. I’m not Mr. Rage.
I’ve been to Rage, by the way. I went for research—I know you’re laughing already; “research” for Broken Hearts Club. [Director] Greg Berlanti brought Dean Cain and me to the Abbey for drinks, and then we went to Rage. I’ll never forget this giant black guy who walked in. He looked like a bodyguard —must’ve been 6 foot 6, a huge, built guy. And he walked in, and I was like, Oh, my God, this guy’s in the wrong bar. He’s going to start a fight. I got all stressed-out. Once the guy made contact with his friends that he was meeting, he totally switched and went, “Hey, gir-r-rl!” It was just the ultimate articulation of you never know who’s gay and who’s not. It was actually a good lesson to learn.

When it comes to homophobia, what bothers you the most?
Gay marriage is so obviously going to be something that’s going to happen eventually. These people who are against it are just wasting their time. I just think it’s preposterous that any two people who love each other can’t get married.

At the recent LA premiere of Oscar contender Babel, Cate Blanchett shined like the legend she is and Brad Pitt looked fugly as usual. Not sure what Alicia Silverstone is randomly doing there, but regardless…still anticipating seeing this movie. I’ll probably check it out this weekend.

Scrubs Becomes Available For Download From iTunes

Posted under Television, Zach Braff by Chris Evans on Thursday 30 March 2006 at 3:04 pm

NBC’s Scrubs will become available for downloading from Apple’s iTunes Music Store the day after it airs, with the network sharing the revenue ($1.99 per download) with Disney’s Touchstone Television, which produces the show.

It marks the first time that a current television show has been offered for legal downloading that has not been produced by the network that broadcasts it. In an interview with today’s (Thursday) Los Angeles Times, NBC Universal Television Group CEO Jeff Zucker said, "Hopefully, this will open the door to make available more shows that we don’t own. … We all produce shows for other networks, we all cross-pollenate each other, so hopefully this will become the model going forward."

Confirmed: Mandy Moore and Zach Braff Getting Married

Posted under Celebrities, Mandy Moore, Movies, Music, Television, Zach Braff by Chris Evans on Saturday 25 February 2006 at 6:48 pm

In case there was ever any doubt that Mandy Moore and Zach Braff are indeed getting married, the foxy Neva tracked down their Tiffany’s wedding registry. There’s nothing particularly interesting, but it’s worth looking at just to see their full names Amanda Moore and Zachary Braff in print.

Although if you’d like to get a little something for the couple, I recommend the $260 pierced tablespoon. I’m not exactly sure why you would want holes in your spoon, but I figure it’s for those go-getters who find drinking soup just isn’t quite challenging enough on its own.
