The Academy Awards are tonight at 8 on ABC, hosted by Jon Stewart. Here are a few pictures from the rehearsal they had yesterday for the presenters. Keep coming back during tonight’s Oscars, I’ll be blogging live with updates on who’s winning what and what I think about what bitches are wearing. I’ll scourge the earth for the best pictures I can find of these nasty bitches–hopefully nobody pulls a Teri Hatcher. We’ll see if my predictions for this year’s 78th Annual Academy Awards turn out to be right.

Uma Joins Aniston, Kidman On Oscar Night

The list of Oscar presenters is growing, with Uma Thurman and Dolly Parton the latest two additions to be announced by the Academy.

The Oscars will air Sunday, March 5 on ABC.

While Thurman’s big movie last year, The Producers, fizzled at the box office, she is currently shooting the comedy romance My Super Ex-Girlfriend, with Luke Wilson. She plays a superheroine with a bumpy personal life.

Parton is slated to take to the stage of Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre to perform her Oscar-nominated original song “Travelin’ Thru,” from the movie Transamerica, for which Felicity Huffman is up for Best Actress.

Also performing will be Kathleen “Bird” York, whose “In the Deep,” from Best Picture nominee Crash, is also in the running for Best Song.

Other presenters, so far, include last year’s two top acting winners, Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) and Jamie Foxx (Ray), as well as Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and last year’s Supporting Actor winner, Morgan Freeman

Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe Get Back Together?

Posted under Celebrities, Hilary Swank by Chris Evans on Thursday 23 February 2006 at 2:39 am

Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe announced their split in January – but on Sunday the couple met at the low-key Tra di Noi restaurant in Malibu for a late lunch, PEOPLE reports in its upcoming issue.

“They seemed to be getting along very well,” said an observer, noting that after the meal, Lowe, 38, walked Swank, 31, to her car. “He put his arm on her back when they were saying goodbye.”

So, are the pair, who wed eight years ago, reconciling? No official word yet, but a close friend of the double-Oscar winner tells PEOPLE, “It’s not the first time (they’ve eaten together), it’s just the first time the cameras have been around. It’s evidence that they’re working on their marriage.”

These preservation-of-marriage acts can be typical, say professionals. “In any divorce or separation, people are confused. They think, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t be so hasty,’” says Beverly Hills psychiatrist Carole Lieberman.

Some couples have tried to mend broken marriages, but to no avail. Charlie Sheen, 40, and Denise Richards, 35, wore wedding bands and big smiles in the Bahamas in December, nine months after Richards first filed for divorce. But just weeks later the divorce was back on and a bitter custody battle over their two daughters broke out.

Then there is the unparalleled case of Renée Zellweger, 36, and Kenny Chesney, 37. The two had their five-month marriage annulled in December yet continue to meet regularly for cozy meals. Their reps insist they’re “just friends.”

With friends like that, who needs spouses?
