In a recent interview with Monsters and Critics Matt Damon jokingly comments on Ocean’s Thirteen co-star George Clooney’s sexuality:

“George is gay. Everybody knows that. But honestly, I never realized he was gay - even when he was beating me off!”

Well, well…wouldn’t that be an interesting sex tape?

Kelly Clarkson Helps Tony Bennett Turn 80

Posted under Celebrities, George Clooney, Kelly Clarkson, Music by Chris Evans on Friday 10 November 2006 at 5:04 pm

A multitude of celebrities including Kelly Clarkson, the always sexy George Clooney, fugly as always Marc Anthony, Billy Crystal, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Willis, and more celebrated music legend Tony Bennett’s 80th birthday last night in Hollywood. I must say, Tony looks damn good to be almost a century old!

Miss Kelly sang two of Tony’s songs, Because of You and Its Alright With Me, as well as Happy Birthday.

I’m glad SOMEBODY’S saying something about how fucked up the music business is these days. These rich record execs are screwing over the artists. Tony had this to say on the state of the music industry:

“I’m a little disturbed that the businessmen are making a fortune, but after the first record, they drop the artist and go with the next. It’s not fair because the artists all have such good potential. They all have the possibility of really becoming good performers if they just had the place they could break into and learn how to do it properly.”

Happy Birthday

Because of You

It’s Alright With Me

George Clooney On Cover of Vanity Fair

Posted under Celebrities, George Clooney by Chris Evans on Saturday 7 October 2006 at 3:08 pm

It’s the biggest cover available right now–I’ll put up a better one as soon as I can find it. Georgey has definitely aged well over the years. I think he’s a bit overrated as an actor, but a good guy.

Still bitter he beat out Matt Dillon for the Oscar but hey, that’s so last year.

You can find the rest of the pictures and the interview here.

George Clooney Back On With Renee Zellweger?

Posted under Celebrities, George Clooney by Chris Evans on Friday 29 September 2006 at 1:09 am

Apparently Academy Award winners George Clooney and Renee Zellweger have rekindled their romance together according to on-lookers who saw them on a date together. Here are the details:

It looks like Renée Zellweger has rekindled her romance with George Clooney. The two, who dated several years ago before Zellweger’s quickie marriage to country crooner Kenny Chesney, met up at the Sunset Tower Hotel restaurant Tower Bar in L.A. the Sunday before last for a romantic dinner. Zellweger had just come from the wedding of Vanity Fair West Coast editor Krista Smith to John Hafter and met Clooney at the restaurant where they “cuddled, held hands and then slow danced to the piano music,” our spy said.

Hmm..seems like a cute couple. Would switch out Renee with Teri Hatcher and it’d be perfect.

‘Eight Below’ and ‘Syriana’ Top DVD Charts

Posted under George Clooney, Movies, Paul Walker by Chris Evans on Saturday 1 July 2006 at 5:10 am

Buena Vista Home Entertainment’s Eight Below topped the national DVD sales chart the week ending June 25. The film grossed $81.6 million in theaters. On DVD it handily outsold its nearest rival, Fox Home Entertainment horror remake The Hills Have Eyes, which debuted at No. 2 on the VideoScan First Alert chart.

The week’s other theatrical release, Warner Home Video’s Syriana, bowed at No. 3, although the George Clooney political thriller did finish first on Home Media Retailing’s video rental chart for the week, with estimated earnings of $10.2 million, more than 20 percent of its box-office take.

The Hills Have Eyes also posted a second-place finish on the rental chart, with earnings estimated at $9.4 million, while Eight Below came in at No 5, with $8.1 million.

On the DVD sales chart, Buena Vista scored big with its special edition of Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure, a made-for-video title that bowed at No. 6. Fox also did well with Night Watch, a Russian fantasy thriller set in Moscow, which debuted at No. 10.

After five weeks of release, Buena Vista’s TV musical High School Musical is still in the top 10 (No. 8, same as the previous week).

Celine Dion and Barry Manilow In Ocean’s 13

Posted under Celebrities, Celine Dion, George Clooney by Chris Evans on Friday 21 April 2006 at 4:10 pm

Barry Manilow and Celine Dion and British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen are among the big names in talks to appear in the latest sequel to Ocean’s Eleven. Ocean’s Thirteen will begin shooting in July in Burbank, California, where a fully operational casino will be built.

Warner Bros. studios are looking to Manilow and Dion to add some musical star power to the film, according to moviehole.net. Cohen, renowned for his kooky alter-ego Ali G, will play a character specifically written for him by the film’s star George Clooney.

Clooney explains, “I think he’s a great actor and I’ve written a role exclusively for him. I know he’s a fan of my work and we’re hooking up together soon. He will be an oddball character.”

George Clooney Feuding With Julia Roberts?

Posted under Celebrities, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Movies by Chris Evans on Tuesday 18 April 2006 at 11:43 am

TMZ is reporting that there has been buzz that George Clooney and Julia Roberts are feuding after Roberts did not agree to reprise her role as Clooney’s wife, Tess, in the upcoming film, Ocean’s Thirteen.

As a producer in the franchise, Clooney has more at stake than just reading lines and looking handsome, so the word is that Clooney felt betrayed that his close friend would abandon the project. However, there is other speculation that director Soderbergh wanted to go in another direction and called Julia’s departure “a script issue.”

Whether this true or not, who cares? This isn’t 1996. Just because Julia Roberts decides not to be in your movie, that doesn’t mean you have to tear up your script and burn down your production company for the insurance money. Besides, Julia seems to be content with her life in New York, where she acts on Broadway and pulls couples around on carriage rides.

‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ Set To Begin Filming

Posted under Brad Pitt, Celebrities, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Movies by Chris Evans on Monday 27 March 2006 at 7:49 pm

Warner Bros. Pictures and producer Jerry Weintraub have set a July 21 start date for Ocean’s Thirteen, and Ellen Barkin is the third film’s new leading lady, reports Variety.

Filming will take place primarily on five soundstages on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, where a fully operational casino will be built.

The first “Ocean’s” film was shot at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the sequel in Europe, but it became too arduous to shoot a movie around the gambling traffic in a real casino, producer Jerry Weintraub told the trade. Director Steven Soderbergh and star George Clooney just used the WB soundstages to shoot The Good German, a European-set period drama.

Soderbergh has already committed to direct returning cast members George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Eddie Jemison, Shaobo Qin, Carl Reiner and Elliott Gould.

With Barkin in, that means previous female leads Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones are sitting this one out. Barkin’s character will get closely involved with Damon’s character.

Warner Bros. will co-finance with Village Roadshow Pictures for a summer 2007 release. The film is a co-production between Jerry Weintraub Productions and Section Eight.

The film was scripted by Rounders screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

Ocean’s Eleven earned $450.7 million worldwide and Ocean’s Twelve took in $362.7 million.
