Looks like it’s gonna be battle of the egos–Madonna and Justin Timberlake are teaming up to work on Madonna’s upcoming hip-hop inspired album. When will this woman stop trying to cling to anything young and popular?

Anderson Cooper, whom Out magazine just featured on their recent controversial magazine cover, just signed a $50 million dollar deal with CNN. Wonder if there’s a gay clause anywhere in there.

People are ready to brand HeroesHayden Panetierre another Lindsay Lohan due to a compromising picture involving her and a friend’s boob. I say what the hell–it looks like a harmless goofy joke. Get over it.

Larry Birkhead is indeed the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby. There. Now can Anna, Howard, the baby, her mother and the 1439147 possible fathers finally get out of my life? Thanks.

Are Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling getting married? A source close to Rachel says they are planning on getting married later this year. Can I be the beef patty in between the two buns a flower girl?

Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker are teaming up in a new film called The Great Debaters, which Denzel will also direct, and is being produced by Oprah Winfrey’s company Harpo Films. Can’t wait to see it!

Denzel Teams With Jackson, Dean Cain Criticizes ‘Superman’

Posted under Brandon Routh, Celebrities, Denzel Washington, Kate Bosworth, Movies, Television by Chris Evans on Tuesday 4 July 2006 at 5:34 am

Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is trying to woe Peter Jackson to get him to do the special effects for a movie he is directing. Washington told the Dominion Post he discussed the matter with Jackson himself during a four-day trip to Wellington earlier this week–but declined to provide any further details.

One thing he did say however, is that the movie should be released in about two years.
Peter Jackson is currently working on a movie adapdation of the best-selling novel “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold.

Daughter of Clint Eastwood, actress Alison Eastwood is set to follow in her father’s footsteps, and grace the directing chair. The Hollywood Reporter says that the 34 year old actress whose credits include “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” and “Tightrope” (both films of her father’s), will direct “Rails and Ties” an emotional drama about about two families.

Other upcoming projects from little Eastwood include “How to Go Out on a Date in Queens“, a romantic comedy starring Jason Alexander, and “One Long Night“, a comedic thriller starring Jon Seda.

William Keck of USA Today spoke to TV Superman Dean Cain, and Cain offered his opinions on the new Superman film “Superman Returns“.

When asked about what he thought of Brandon Routh as Superman he said “Great job, but I can’t compare his Superman to mine because in our version, Clark Kent was the main guy.” He also said “Brandon reminded me of Christopher Reeve . Their Clark Kents were the same bumbling fellows, but Brandon’s Superman seemed a little tougher than Christopher’s.”

As far as Kate Bosworth’s take on Lois Lane, Cain had this to say

“Teri’s Lois had a hard exterior with a real soft interior. The whole thing with Lois having a child (a 5-year-old son, Jason) in the film was a little unsettling. I have a child (Christopher Dean Cain, 6) and that changes things. Lois Lane is always going to be an intrepid reporter, but I would never bring my child to a place where he could possibly get in danger — yet she does, which was kind of surprising.”

Academy Award winners Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are slated to co-star in the film “The Bucket List“. According to Variety, Rob Reiner will direct the film, and they’re hoping for an October start on production–deals and budget will be finalized once a studio is locked in.

The movie focuses on two men who are terminally ill that try to fulfill their wishes before they “kick the bucket”.

Denzel Washington and director Spike Lee scored the best opening of their careers on Sunday, as the heist thriller “Inside Man” grabbed the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office in North America with estimated ticket sales of $29 million.

The film, which also stars Clive Owen and Jodie Foster, was the top picture overseas as well, with sales of $9.6 million from 18 countries, including No. 1 openings in Britain and Germany, according to distributor Universal Pictures.

Washington’s previous best bow was the kidnap thriller “Man on Fire,” which opened with $22.8 million in April 2004. Lee’s best was the comedy concert “The Original Kings of Comedy,” with $11 million in August 2000.

“Inside Man,” which cost about $45 million to make, revolves around a cat-and-mouse game between a bank robber (Owen) and a New York cop (Washington). Foster plays an intermediary with her own agenda.

Universal said exit polling indicated that 68 percent of the audience was aged 30 and older, and that male viewers comprised 54 percent. Three-quarters of respondents said Washington was their main reason for going. Universal Pictures is a unit of General Electric Co.’s NBC Universal Inc
