Michelle Pfeiffer is still lookin’ fierce at the ripe old age of 49. Damn, what is it with Ashton Kutcher and all these older sexy women?

T.R. Knight revealed he’ll be a bridesmaid when his BFF (or fag hag as I like to call her) Katherine Heigl gets married in December to singer Josh Kelley.

Lindsay Lohan seems to be filming some kind of commercial involving Superheroes. No one knows what the hell it is, but she looks damn hot if you ask me.

After reviving the fledgling Batman franchise, Christian Bale is now going to be starring in the Terminator. Since, you know, Arnold is just a tad busy.

Pete Wentz is yet again talking about how much he wishes he were gay. Well, sweetie you seem to make out with men any change you get so maybe a part of you is?

Katherine Heigl’s getting a lot of flack after calling her hit film Knocked Up sexist and the George/Izzie plotline on Grey’s Anatomy a “ratings ploy”. But girlfriend is 100% right. Keep it real!

Now that the writer’s strike has paralyzed network television, it seems CBS is going to fill the gap with episodes of Showtime’s Weeds and Dexter. But of course, the edited versions.

Jake Gyllenhaal has been tapped to play Hall of Famer Joe Namath in an upcoming Biopic. Hm, will this be Jake’s road to Oscar gold?

Breath of Fresh Ink Recommends: Bobby

Posted under Ashton Kutcher, Elijah Wood, Lindsay Lohan, Movies by Chris Evans on Monday 20 November 2006 at 1:22 am

A friend and I just saw Bobby last night, and I was really excited because I’ve been waiting to see this movie ever since I heard about it. The cast alone is enough reason to see the movie, but after I saw Emilio Estevez and Lindsay Lohan on Oprah promoting it I really just couldn’t wait.

Right now it’s only available in New York and L.A., but it goes into wide release on the 23rd so go see it.

I’ll tell you now, the MVPs of the movie are:

Sharon Stone
- I was immediately drawn to her character and she made all of her scenes interesting even if the dialogue was a bit banal. Had great chemistry with everyone especially Lindsay in the beginning. Her scene where she talks to William H. Macy about you know what (don’t wanna spoil anything) was wonderfully done.

Shia LaBeouf - I really hated this kid on Even Stevens but inside I always knew he was really talented. I’ve seen him in other movies since then and it was obvious he had potential. I know a lot of people might disagree because they don’t wanna take him seriously, but I really thought he did a terrific job in this film–even outdoing some of these so-called veterans. Charismatic, funny, energetic, even emotional–just really great job from such a young, green actor.

Freddy Rodriguez - Loved him back on Six Feet Under but he REALLY, REALLY shines in this film. The part is well written (which I cannot say for some others *cough* Demi *cough*) and Freddy hits it right out of the park. I cared about his character more than I cared about ANY of the other people in this movie–and I’m not sure if it’s because of Freddy, Emilio’s writing, or both. If any acting nominations come out of this movie I hope one goes to him.

Honorable Mentions for me are Lindsay Lohan, Nick Cannon, and Martin Sheen. Lindsay played the role earnestly and very real. I think her and Elijah did a great job and had good chemistry–their story was one of my favorites. Nick’s reaction when Bobby was shot was enough to start the tears rolling–despite the fact that the girl who played his “girlfriend” was one of the worst actresses ever. Even though Martin and Helen’s storyline kind of annoyed me–I warmed up to it near the end–and Martin took his part and their story to the next level. I thank God Emilio didn’t try to make it a full family affair and cast Charlie in it though.

The worst part of the movie was probably Demi Moore and her horrid excuse for a character. Not only was I annoyed with her 2 dimensional portrayal of a drunken starlet, I felt like the character itself was completely pointless. It gave Estevez something to do, but it was just pointless. I have friends who could’ve pulled off a cheap performance like that back when we did theater in high school. Oh well, she tried.

I’ll have a full review of the movie tomorrow. :)

Fresh Hotness: Ashton Kutcher’s Butt On Jay Leno

Posted under Ashton Kutcher, Celebrities, Television by Chris Evans on Monday 6 November 2006 at 7:43 am

Ashton Kutcher recently stopped by Jay Leno and did a segment where he mooned the Washington D.C. monuments. I used to have a HUGE crush on Ashton back in the Dude Where’s My Car days (as my friends can tell you) but I’ve moved on. These pics might make me take a few steps back though.

Oscar Bound: Bobby

Emilio Estevez’s highly anticipated drama “Bobby” is probably one of the surest bets for Oscar noms this awards season. Aside from the fact that it just look like a good movie, and the fact that it’s based on truth (which is always an upgrade come Oscar time), it also has one of the most all-star casts ever assembled. Let me read you the cast list:

Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, Helen Hunt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lindsay Lohan, Elijah Wood, Martin Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Ashton Kutcher, William H. Macy, Christian Slater, Freddy Rodriguez, Kip Pardue, Joshua Jackson, Heather Graham, Nick Cannon, and Harry Belafonte.

Sheesh! That’s a lot of fat paychecks.

The story centers around 22 people who were at the Ambassador Hotel when Senator Robert (Bobby) Kennedy was killed.

Ashton Kutcher In Details Magazine, Justin Timberlake In Fashion Rocks, Christina Aguilera on Ellen

Posted under Ashton Kutcher, Celebrities, Christina Aguilera, Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Timberlake, Music, Television by Chris Evans on Tuesday 22 August 2006 at 3:50 am

Ashton Kutcher is on the cover of September’s issue of Details. He looks pretty smokin’.

No, you’re not seeing things. The top does read “Heterophobia: Has The Straight Man Become The Victim?”

I’m dying laughing too.

Here are some caps from Justin’s spread in September’s Fashion Rocks mag.

Yes, ladies and gentleman, there is a new Video Clip of the Week, and this time around it’s vintage Xtina.

I’m loving her look and of course her music from this new Back to Basics era, but I think this Ellen performance of “Beautiful” will always by my favorite live performance of hers. Just..the way she interpreted the song, especially with the harmonizing choir in the background–it was just..well..beautiful. It’s almost a re-invention of what was already a perfectly-imperfect song. And the falsetto at the end is killer.

I love Ellen’s comments at the end. “Now that’s singing! That’s not lip-synching, that’s singing!”.

ABC and FOX Cancel Shows

Emily's Reasons Why Not

ABC has its reasons why not to continue production on Heather Graham’s new sitcom.

Despite the network’s massive promotional effort behind Emily’s Reasons Why Not, just 6.2 million viewers tuned in for the Jan. 9 debut of the female-friendly series.

Based on its audience’s apparent lack of interest in Emily, the Alphabet net elected to preempt the second episode of the sitcom with a rerun of the season premiere of The Bachelor Monday night.

Though Graham and friends were slated to return to the lineup next Monday, the network shut down production on the show Friday, following the taping of the sixth episode and a decision by ABC to reduce its original order.

Depending on how the Parisian exploits of this season’s Bachelor fare with viewers, there’s a good chance ABC may decide to pull the plug on Emily for good.

“It is a shame,” Gavin Polone, the show’s executive producer, told Daily Variety. “A lot of people were working really hard and the show kept improving. Sony spent a huge amount of money and were very supportive. I can’t fault ABC, though: they promoted it like crazy and when the audience stays away, in this supercompetitive environment, quick decisions are made. That’s the television business.”

While Emily wasn’t given much of a chance to make its mark before being shown the door, two tried-and-true television series were also given their walking papers this week.

On Tuesday, Fox announced it would be bidding farewell to both That ’70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle at the conclusions of their seasons in May–a move that surprises no one.

That 70s Show

The bell-bottomed cast of That ’70s Show will be packing up their trailers after eight seasons following the series finale on May 18, which also marks the show’s 200th episode.

The show was widely expected to come to an end at the conclusion of its seventh season, but was instead reupped for an eighth season, despite flagging ratings and the departures of stars Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher. The show is averaging 6.4 million viewers this season.

That ’70s Show is one of our longest-running hit comedies,” Fox Entertainment president Peter Liguori said in a statement. “The show’s success is definitely a testament to the creativity and dedication put forth each week by the talented cast, outstanding writers and producers and the great crew. There are a lot of things about the ’70s we’d like to forget–especially those involving polyester–but this series has been a wonderful look back at this most memorable decade.”

Meanwhile, the five troublemaking brothers of Malcolm in the Middle, along with their television parents, will be calling it quits May 14, after marking seven seasons and the show’s 150th episode. The show had struggled this season, averaging just 3.5 million viewers, way down from 15.2 million in its first year.

Malcolm In The Middle

During its tenure, the show won numerous accolades, including the Peabody Award, six Emmys and a Grammy Award.

Fox is proud to have been the home of this groundbreaking comedy,” Liguori said. “From its innovative production values to its exceptional writers and cast, this series has helped shape the modern sitcom. We’ll miss this hilariously loud and manic–yet somehow relatable and admirable–family.”
