Janet Comments On Feud With Madonna

HX: I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but there’s an Internet war between Janet and Madonna fans. I know you and Madonna had some beef in the ’90s, but do you think the heat between Madonna and Janet fans has any validity?
Janet: No—I didn’t know this was going on. [Laughs]

HX: They argue, make videos and, of course, it’s mostly the gay fans. So people are curious: What are your thoughts on Madonna now?
Janet: I think she’s done wonderful things. She’s done great things in her career, in her life, and more power to her. I think fans will always be that way—always. They’re just incredibly loyal and they love you so much that if anyone says anything remotely negative, they’re there to just immediately jump on them. It’ll always be that way—very loyal.

You can read the rest of the interview over at HX’s website.

Sandra Bullock & Julia Roberts Among OK Magazine’s Richest Women

Premonition may have sucked and bombed, and Perfect Stranger may have been as embarrassingly bad as its gross at the box office, but I suppose Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry are still doing pretty well for themselves financially.

SANDRA BULLOCK, MADONNA, JULIA ROBERTS and NICOLE KIDMAN have made it into the top five of a new list of rich celebrities. The quartet was beaten only by Oprah Winfrey in the OK! magazine Top 10 Female Breadwinners countdown - she topped the list with a $1.5 billion net worth. The publication’s top 10 also featured Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry and Jessica Alba, the youngest star on the list.

Glad to see my girl Christina on the list, and of course the Queen Oprah. Can anyone remember the last time Nicole Kidman even released a movie? And how the hell is Jessica Alba’s no talent ass on the list?

Fresh Links: Justin Timberlake Working With Madonna

Looks like it’s gonna be battle of the egos–Madonna and Justin Timberlake are teaming up to work on Madonna’s upcoming hip-hop inspired album. When will this woman stop trying to cling to anything young and popular?

Anderson Cooper, whom Out magazine just featured on their recent controversial magazine cover, just signed a $50 million dollar deal with CNN. Wonder if there’s a gay clause anywhere in there.

People are ready to brand HeroesHayden Panetierre another Lindsay Lohan due to a compromising picture involving her and a friend’s boob. I say what the hell–it looks like a harmless goofy joke. Get over it.

Larry Birkhead is indeed the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby. There. Now can Anna, Howard, the baby, her mother and the 1439147 possible fathers finally get out of my life? Thanks.

Are Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling getting married? A source close to Rachel says they are planning on getting married later this year. Can I be the beef patty in between the two buns a flower girl?

Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker are teaming up in a new film called The Great Debaters, which Denzel will also direct, and is being produced by Oprah Winfrey’s company Harpo Films. Can’t wait to see it!

Fresh Links: Madonna On Oprah!

Madonna, or as many a gay may know her, Queen Madge will appear on Oprah today to discuss..yeah you guessed it.

Rock your booodyy riiiight. Backstreet’s Whack! Alright?! Wtf. I love you A.J. but the self-hatred’s got to go.

David Beckham is going to drop his pants? I’m there. Aw shit, it’s for children.

Poor NBC. You know you’re desperate when you ask Jessica Simpson to guest star on your network’s best show.

Project Runway’s resident bitch Nina Garcia and her husband are expecting their first child. Damn, ho’…pretty late, huh?

Apparently T.R. Knight is getting some pretty interesting text messages. Or not.

As much as I hate the HasselbitchLaw & Order: SVU went a bit too far this time. Even though they did the same thing to Michael…and Britney…and Mel Gibson.

Madonna Teams Up With Lindsay Lohan

Madonna and Lindsay Lohan are planning an unlikely duet, according to US reports.

The odd couple have reportedly become new best friends due to their links to Kabbalah, and now they’re in secret talks to record a tune together, according to America’s In Touch magazine. And, according to insiders, the couple also plan to appear in a movie together. A source says, “They’re helping each other.

Madonna’s giving Lindsay advice on her music career, and she wants to work on a film with Madonna too.” The insider also tells the publication that Madonna and Lohan are planning a trip to Israel together once the Material Girl’s Confessions world tour is over.

Paul McCartney, Kelly Clarkson Added To Grammy Performers

The performance lineup for the 48th annual Grammy Awards continues to swell. Following yesterday’s (Feb. 1) confirmation of a show-opening Madonna/Gorillaz pairing, the Recording Academy has added Paul McCartney, Kelly Clarkson and Ciara to a bill now made up of a dozen performances.

McCartney is nominated for three awards this year: album of the year and best pop vocal album for “Chaos and Creation in the Backyard” (MPL/Capitol), as well as best male pop vocal performance for the album track “Fine Line.” Despite his long career and 13 past Grammy wins, this will mark the former Beatle’s first Grammy performance.

Triple-nominee Ciara (best new artist, best rap/sung collaboration for “1, 2 Step” featuring Missy Elliott and best short form music video for “Lose Control” with Missy Elliott and Fat Man Scoop), will take part in the multi-artist tribute to Sly & the Family Stone. Double-nominee Clarkson (best female pop vocal performance for “Since U Been Gone” and best pop vocal album for “Breakaway” (RCA) is set to perform solo.

Comedian/talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has been drafted to introduce McCartney’s performance. Other newly added presenters are the members of Destiny’s Child, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Chris Brown, professional cyclist Lance Armstrong and actresses Jennifer Love Hewitt, Teri Hatcher and Jenna Elfman.

Mariah Carey, John Legend and Kanye West share the lead with eight nominations heading into the Feb. 8 ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live on CBS.

Carrie Underwood Might Land #1

Carrie Underwood

According to HitsDailyDouble.com, a site that has a building album sales chart which updates on Mondays and Tuesdays, with 32% of the sales already tallied, it seems as if Carrie Underwood’s soon to be #1 single “Jesus Take The Wheel” has rocketed her album to #1 as well. Getting shut out by Madonna for the number one slot when her album was first released, this would finally give Carrie’s already double platinum album the #1 slot it never got. Looks like Carrie’s out for a little revenge. Not only is Carrie’s album way higher on the Billboard 200 than Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, but her album has sold more. Keep on truckin’ Carrie. Looks like Simon’s prediction was correct.
