Don’t know how I feel about Heath Ledger’s face…it looks like he inherited Tammy Faye Bakker’s make-up kit, but I’m still way excited to see this movie.

Angelina Depressed Over Her Film Flop

Posted under Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Movies by Chris Evans on Friday 27 July 2007 at 5:32 pm

According to US Weekly, Mrs. Brad Pitt (ew, I hate saying that, it’s so degrading)–Angelina Jolie is quite depressed over the horrible box office numbers of her acclaimed but forgotten film A Mighty Heart. It got good reviews and her performance was praised, but it made a sadly small dent in the box office and it will likely be old new come Oscar time.

US Weekly says:

The actress is “devastated” by the audience rejection of her movie A Mighty Heart (it has earned just $9 million).

“She poured her heart into the story and can’t believe people don’t understand how important it is,” the insider tells Us Weekly in this week’s issue.

Helping to lighten her mood: a vacation in France with Brad Pitt, 43, and their four kids.

Damn. Maybe this is God’s way of getting you back for stealing somebody’s husband. :(

Christina Aguilera Performing With The Rolling Stones

Posted under Celebrities, Christina Aguilera, Movies, Music by Chris Evans on Tuesday 24 July 2007 at 7:07 pm

Christina Aguilera is featured in a documentary about the career of the Rolling Stones made by the legendary Martin Scorsese. She performs with them in the movie, and though the documentary doesn’t come out until September 21, someone who was able to attend the concert captured her divalicious entrance to the stage. This should be interesting to see. Scorsese can do no wrong.

Brokeback Mountain Coming To Broadway?

Posted under Broadway, Brokeback Mountain, Hugh Jackman, James Marsden by Chris Evans on Tuesday 24 July 2007 at 12:02 pm

Rumors are swirling that there is an effort to bring the massive hit and critically acclaimed cowboy romance Brokeback Mountain to Broadway. There is no word as to whether it will be adapted as a play or as a musical, but there are two stars who are supposedly being approached to star in the Broadway adaptation. X-Men co-stars Hugh Jackman and James Marsden have been named as the two actors they are shooting for to star as Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist in the weeper love story. Considering the hopeful casting choices, I’m going to go ahead and assume it’s being adapted into a musical.

We know Hugh Jackman for his singing from his Tony winning performance in The Boy From Oz, where he played gay singer and songwriter Peter Allen, and James Marsden just recently showed off his impressive vocal chops as Corny Collins in Hairspray. Both have sung previously, and both have played gay roles before–Marsden played a gay man in the movie Heights, but would they take on such an acclaimed and successful film, knowing the difficulty of duplicating the success and praise when brought to a stage, especially to music?

I could definitely see the show being a commercial hit–especially with such hunky co-stars, many will turn out just to see them kiss on stage–and I can’t imagine the stage door frenzy after each show. But I’m skeptical as to whether this story will translate well to the stage (I mean…it takes place on a mountain…what about the sheep?) and whether it will work as a musical. But then again, I was wary of The Color Purple on Broadway, and that turned out to be a wonderful play. Time will tell if any of these rumors are even true.

Matt Damon’s Gay Sex With George Clooney?

In a recent interview with Monsters and Critics Matt Damon jokingly comments on Ocean’s Thirteen co-star George Clooney’s sexuality:

“George is gay. Everybody knows that. But honestly, I never realized he was gay - even when he was beating me off!”

Well, well…wouldn’t that be an interesting sex tape?

Spice Girls To Add More Concert Dates?

Posted under Celebrities, Music by Chris Evans on Monday 23 July 2007 at 8:40 am

Those of you upset about the Spice Girls only doing three U.S. cities on their reunion tour (which of course includes me), there may be hope for you after all! Apparently the Spice Girls are in talks with their manager Simon Fuller to add up to 25 more dates to their tour.

According to the Mirror:

THE Spice Girls are in talks to add up to 25 more dates to their comeback extravaganza, after an unprecedented two million fans say they Wannabe there.

Pop svengali Simon Fuller is determined to make the money-spinning project even bigger after fans bombarded the band’s website with ticket requests.

The problem is that all of the women have children, except for Baby who is pregnant, and Sporty. So it would be difficult for them all to do such an involved tour with all of the family obligations.

I say your kids can do without you for a few short months! Don’t tell me David Beckham doesn’t go away from time to time.
