Christina Aguilera Crying In Concert

Posted under Celebrities, Christina Aguilera, Music by Chris Evans on Monday 25 June 2007 at 6:37 am

Christina Aguilera did her second show in Korea last night, and got a little emotional during her Grammy winning ballad “Beautiful“.

It seems odd that after all these years of performing the song, and after she’s already done it on 100+ dates on this tour, that it’d still get her choked up. But I guess that’s those hormones kicking in. Pregnancy for the win!

Here’s video of the emotional performance:

Fresh Music Video: Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned

Posted under Justin Timberlake by Chris Evans on Thursday 21 June 2007 at 7:39 am

This is my favorite song from his CD, but wow, what a way to drop the ball. It seems like Christina is the only pop artist that actually puts out decent music videos these days. This literally looks like what I’d see on my screen were I listening to it with a visualizer in Windows Media Player. Low budget, like Beyonce’s career.

Fresh Links: Matt and Ben Do Hawaii

Best friends and A-list hottie Oscar winners Matt Damon and Ben Affleck enjoyed Father’s day weekend in Hawaii with their respective families. They even found enough time to dust off their surf boardsMatthew McConaughey style.

Perez Hilton’s troubles continue to snowball, as his server host has dropped him and his famous website, causing the site to be down for many hours, and is now back up with limited access. I have trouble having sympathy for this man. At all.

Isaiah Washington’s ego refuses to deflate, and his mouth refuses to stay shut. Now that he’s been permanently ousted from Grey’s Anatomy, he plans on suing ABC and is now trying to blame T.R. Knight for the entire ordeal.

Remember Alfonso Ribeiro, the cutie who played geeky Carlton Banks back on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with Will Smith? Well prepare yourself kiddies because your jaw will drop to the floor when you see what he looks like these days.

Christina Aguilera recently kicked off the third leg of her Back to Basics tour in Tokyo, Japan, and it’s fueled the pregnancy rumors even more because of her change of outfit (it’s now a looser fit costume) and a heart rate monitor watch (I suppose to make sure the baby is okay and she’s not overexerting herself) that she’s now wearing on stage. In other Aguilera news, she just owned Kelly Osbourne and bought up her old house. Revenge is sweet……bitch.

Apparently Kelly Clarkson, whose album My December is unfortunately most likely going to flop like her tour did, battled bulimia in high school. Ew, way to steal attention-getting sympathy stories from Katharine McPhee. What’s next? Letting Ellen DeGeneres squeeze your boobs?

Kate Hudson takes another swing at romantic comedies with a new film called Bachelor No. 2 in which Dane Cook will also be starring. Considering his track record with movies (okay, he’s only been in one, but it was bad enough) and his terrible jokes that he steals from Louis C.K., and Kate’s recent flops, I think it’s safe to say this movie will royally suck. Oh well.

Some photos have surfaced from the set of The Dark Knight, featuring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart. I seriously cannot imagine how this movie could go wrong. Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal (a big upgrade from Katie Holmes), Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman? I need to see this yesterday.

Angelina Jolie In A Mighty Heart

Posted under Angelina Jolie, Movies, Trailers by Chris Evans on Thursday 21 June 2007 at 6:22 am

Tomorrow A Mighty Heart, Angelina Jolie’s new film about Mariane Pearl, the wife of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, comes out in theaters. It’s been getting a lot of buzz obviously because of the Brangelina craze, with Brad Pitt being one of the producers of the film, also because of the tragic story the film is based upon, and Jolie’s hypocritical actions toward the press as of late.

Either way, the movie looks like it’ll be some good, and her performance is getting good reviews, even if her accent in the trailer sounds horrendous.

Here is a synopsis of the film from the official Paramount press release:

On January 23, 2002, Mariane Pearl’s world changed forever. Her husband
Daniel, South Asia bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, was researching a story
on shoe bomber Richard Reid. The story drew them to Karachi where a go-between had
promised access to an elusive source. As Danny left for the meeting, he told Mariane
he might be late for dinner. He never returned.

In the face of death, Danny’s spirit of defiance and his unflinching belief in the
power of journalism led Mariane to write about his disappearance, the intense effort
to find him and his eventual murder in her memoir A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and
Death of My Husband Danny Pearl. Six months pregnant when the ordeal began, she was
carrying a son that Danny hoped to name Adam. She wrote the book to introduce Adam
to the father he would never meet.

Transcending religion, race and nationality,
Mariane’s courageous desire to rise above the bitterness and hatred that continues
to plague this post 9/11 world, serves as the purest expression of the joy of life
she and Danny shared.

Jesse Bradford Signs On To The Echo

Posted under Celebrities, Katharine McPhee, Movies by Chris Evans on Saturday 16 June 2007 at 10:32 pm

Hottie Jesse Bradford just attached himself to a new, interesting project:

Jesse Bradford has signed to star in The Echo, a remake of the acclaimed Filipino thriller Sigaw being produced by Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Yam Laranas, who co-wrote and directed Sigaw, is directing the movie, which is being additionally produced by Shin Shimosawa, Tyler Mitchell and Will Wright.

The story centers on a young ex-con (Bradford) who moves into an old apartment building only to learn his neighbor is an abusive police officer who savagely beats his wife and daughter. When the ex-con tries to intervene, he becomes trapped in a curse.

Eric Bernt wrote the screenplay. QED’s Kimberly Fox and Elliot Ferwerda are executive producing.

Shooting is scheduled to begin mid-August in Toronto.

I’ve loved him and those pouty lips since Bring It On, and he was really great in Heights and Happy Endings–hopefully this movie doesn’t blow. It’s rumored that Katharine McPhee is in talks to play a role in the film as well.
