Justin Timberlake Mouths Off In Details Magazine

Some excerpts from his interview:

“I tried so hard to be an R&B artist [with first solo album Justified] and it was the pop album of the year, and I was like, ‘F$$k. That’s the last thing I wanted but I was like, ‘So everyone considers me a pop artist? Well, f$$k it. I’m going to do whatever I want to do.”

“I could give you a bunch of analogies about why I’m still around that would sound like hippie self-help bulls$$t. ‘I saw an opportunity and I took it?’ F$$k you. Sure, there’s a lot of luck involved. But on some level I have to believe in my ability. And I’m not apologizing to anyone. I worked f$$king hard to get here.”

“I’m the nice guy who follows through on the things he commits to. But I don’t know if I’ll be going through that sort of thing again. I feel like the Grammys used me for ratings. And look at it-they were up 18 percent.”

Someone needs to smack him and let him know that no matter how many “fucks” he uses, he’s not going to be R&B, he’s not going to be black, and it doesn’t make him look any cooler. You’re not Prince, you’re not Michael Jackson, so stop stealing their sounds and then try and call yourself an R&B artist.

And how dare you even attempt to accredit the Grammys ratings increase to your weak performances during the telecast. The first one was an off-key mess where you made a failed attempt at a sequel to the Blair Witch Project, and the second one I forgot about quicker than Beyonce’s first two singles dropped off the charts.

You’re a pompous bastard who can’t sing–even WITH your pitch-correcting mic, and you’re NOT bringing sexy back. Especially not with that Ashlee Simpson nose. Boo

Yeah, I’ve been turned off by JT for a while now. Although I admit I love “My Love” (it’s too irresistible! lol), I’m getting tired of his arrogance. I mean he says in an interview that the whole Janet fiasco was unfair since the media only said bad things about Janet - but during that whole time he never came out and defended her. His PR people probably told him to keep shut and just let Janet take the blame. Yet people forget (even I sometimes) that Justin was the one who pulled off the thingy. And now with him trying to be black when people forget HE WAS PART OF AN ALL WHITE TEEN POP BOY BAND!! It’s just frustrating…..lol

I am so glad someone else agrees that JT can’t sing. His songs are only good because of the music arrangements and sometimes the collaborating artists. It’s almost painful to listen to him. I don’t think anyone really knows why he’s still around.

JT is a great singer. Yeah, he can be a little arrogant at times but who wouldn’t be in his position? He’s the hottest thing out there right now. And he did have to work really hard to get where he is now so let him have his moments ya know?

Every award show uses artists for ratings, that’s why they’re in the business to get high ratings and to make money, but I’m sure he got paid for his appearance or he wouldn’t have done it, so I don’t understand what he’s bitching about. If he wants to be an R&B artist then he should write and produce songs that are R&B songs, not Pop. He’s not the best looking or the best singer but I do like his songs and I do think he is very attractive, but his arrogance is making him less and less appealing. He has let his fame go to his head and has forgotten about who he used to be, it’s kind of sad, because when his fame fades as every stars does eventually it will affect him more. I’m sure he has worked hard at his career but their are artists out there more attractive and more talented than him, but they’re not as famous or recognized because they rely solely on talent alone and not the hype of a highly paid publicist.
