Beyonce’s Father: “Golden Globes Are Racist”
So by now we all now that Beyonce did not win either of the Golden Globe awards she was up for Monday night. Best Original Song went to Prince, and Best Lead Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy went to Meryl Streep. The latter was expected. But apparently Beyonce’s father Matthew Knowles cannot get over the fact that his daughter actually lost an award, even if both of them were to living legends. This is his statement to the press directly after the Golden Globes Monday night.
“Today is Martin Luther King’s birthday and it saddens me to say that things have not changed for blacks. Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go.”
Excuse me? Things have not changed for blacks? Okay, let me break it down for you sweetheart since you seem to really be that damn dense. Your daughter lost to Prince. Last I heard Prince wasn’t white. The other award she lost, she lost to Meryl Streep. Probably the best and most respected actress living today. Meanwhile Beyonce can barely say she got rave reviews. Now let’s think about the other people that won Monday night. Hmm….every award Dreamgirls was nominated for except the ones your daughter was up for. Jennifer Hudson won. Black. Eddie Murhpy won. Black. Forest Whitaker won. Black. America Ferrera won. Spanish. The director of Babel won. Spanish. Yet the Globes are racist? You need to just get GONE. You, your wife, and your overrated, non-acting daughter need to get the fuck OUT OF HERE with that mess.
Wow!! I cannot believe he actually said that!! Throughout the Golden Globes all I kept thinking was people of color - REPRESENT!! You also forgot to mention Ugly Betty winning (mainly a latino cast) and also Grey’s Anatomy winning (producer Shonda Rhimes). He’s really crazy for saying something like that. He must’ve been on something.
Is this for real? I doubt it because I’ve only heard this on different gossip blogs such as this one. Now if this was true, it would be all over the news EVERYWHERE. So I doubt it’s true. People try to talk about and down Beyonce like she’s a god. She is nobody special, so why waste time making rumors about her? I just don’t get all the Beyonce hype. And her haters are even more annoying than her crazy fans sometimes. ALL yall need help!
I was surprised Beyonce was nominated. She did an okay performance in “Dreamgirls” but it was nothing special. What I thought she did deserve an award for was bravery in accepting a role that illustrates how a pretty face and body gets you farther than great singing talent–after all, in real life, just as in that film, she’s the pretty face, not the real talent. The film kind of blew her cover.
Why does everyone always attack Beyonce for having no talent. I def think she’s talented - she’s not the best out there but she can sing and her performances are amazing. Out of ALL the “singers” out there now *cough Paris, Britney, Lindsay, Hilary, Ashlee, etc. cough* you guys choose to target Beyonce (man! that was a long cough and could’ve been longer lol).
Plus, I agree with Ivan - I checked it out, only tabloids are reporting this happened so I highly doubt this happened.

What is wrong with ya’ll? Beyonce is one of the most talented R&B singers of our time. She can write her ass off, she can sing extremley well, and she can dance (her nine grammys back these facts up). Beyonce is a hardworking individual who could have won the golden globe under different circumstances. She was up against oscar winning women who are soley actresses, and to be nominated with these women should be enough to show all of you that she deserving of that honor. People don’t have to hate on B because this wasn’t her time. This role meant alot to her, people shouldn’t rub it in her face. She handled her loss with class. Its a shame how people dwell on the negative things:(
It’s truly unfortunate that in these times where we should all be supporting one anothers achievements that her father would pull the “race” card! Beyonce is one of the great talents today, and was nominated in a Category against other great talents who also deservingly were nominated, and in this case out shined her. Hopefully, this is only the beginning for her, and her Golden Globe Role is yet to be written. Jennifer Hudson deservingly won for her role as Effie and hopefully will go on and win the Oscar for her role. She is truly a diamond! We should applaud all of our Sisters, and pray for the brother’s ignorance in this case! What show was he watching…Murphy, Ferrera, Whitaker…and many other minorities were honored!
I definately think that Beyonce is talented as a SINGER…she’s not a bad actress but i dont think she is good enough to win a golden globe…(she lucky she was nominated) and as for her father sayin it is racist, he is just bitter that his baby girl didnt win shit…
I think that Merry Streep is the best of the best in the cinema. Beyoncé not this wrong, but she should even grow in the world of the cinema. She should be satisfied that it was nominated, not all achieve this in this competitive world. Their father, regrettably this mistaken one, I think that this experience to his daughter helps her to grow and to carry out in a future her dreams. She is a talent, there are not doubts, but she even needs to mature but.
I personally think that Beyonce is very talented. It is clear that she has worked very hard and is a perfectionist. The people that won deserved to win. I believe Jennifer is awesome and she proved that her talent was better in this movie. It’s time for someone else to win besides Beyonce and she nor her family can conceive of that right now. Her father did in fact make that comment and I believe it just shows how ignorant he really is. She expects to win all the time because she dances and flaunts her wide-ass around. Well it didn’t get her this award! I do believe that she is over-rated. She puts on this humble, sweet girl act but I believe the girl is scandalous. Why aren’t any of the other girls from Destiny’s Child as successful? What really happened in the relationships between all those girls? Lets see some more of these other great talents like India-Arie, Latoya, Fantasia, etc…
I just think that Beyonce oozes talent. She deserves all the good things that are happening in her lif.
