George Michael’s New Video, Heath Ledger Cast As Joker, Kat McPhee On Entourage?

Latino Review, which gave the scoop Brandon Routh was cast as Superman, tells us that Heath Ledger has been cast as The Joker in the next Batman sequel. Holy wtf. I love Heath Ledger–I do. But anyone trying to out-do Jack Nicholson in the original Batman has quite the job cut out for them–and Heath Ledger? Are you fuckin’ serious? I just can’t see it happening–I’m already laughing hysterically at the idea of Heath in that make-up.

C’mon…honestly.

Word in Tinseltown is that the upcoming Spider-Man 3 is the last movie in the 1.6 billion dollar franchise. Producers say they have never started production on the next film while working on a previous one–and that they’ve always viewed Spider-Man as a triology. Star Tobey Maguire says:

We’ve done an amazing job at keeping things fresh, [but] it’s hard to imagine continuously coming up with stories that deserve to be told. I’m not sure if there are more stories for this character that are interesting enough to be excited about doing more

Here’s to hoping the final film is as good as the first and second–which we know isn’t always the case (*cough* X-Men *cough*).

According to E! Online, American Idol runner up recently auditioned for a role on HBO comedy Entourage as a new love interest for Vince. I’ll be ecstatic if she gets this–she’ll finally get to show her acting talents–let’s of course hope she has some.

Ms. McPhee is set to rejoin her Idols on tour sometime next week, as today marks the day her doctor told her she can start singing again. All I know is, her ass better be there when I go on the 28th, or I’m taking it out on Lisa Tucker.

Also, news just broke that Katharine will be producing a play called Red Herring

About her decision to co-produce Red Herring, Katharine McPhee said in a statement,

“As soon as I read this play, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. Audiences know me best from ‘American Idol,’ but my passion has always been theatre. So much quality work comes out of the Fringe Festival. Artists can take real risks and challenge convention. Michael has written a beautiful play that is thought provoking, entertaining and fresh. I am thrilled to bring this incredible play to this year’s Fringe Festival.”

The play will be seen during the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival.
